Charter School Board Institute
Many thanks to those trustees, school leaders, and special presenters who joined us on April 14, 2018, for a deep dive into the nuts and bolts of charter school governance at the NJCSA Charter School Board Institute. The program included sessions on school finance, policy, lead person evaluation, the accountability framework, and education law. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements of future institutes.
Our next Institute is set for November 17, 2018, in Newark, NJ (exact location to come). Save the date! We expect an equally excellent program that will provide valuable information for trustees and leaders.

Annual New Jersey Charter Schools Conference
The Annual New Jersey Charter Schools Conference is an ideal opportunity to learn new best practices for charter school operations, governance, leadership and instruction; to network with educators, administrators and stakeholders from throughout the state; to explore new products and services in the exhibitor hall; and to connect to a larger community committed to educational opportunity and choice. NJCSA occasionally offers a Charter StartUp 101 workshop developed especially for charter schools founders and developers who are interested in developing a team & writing an application to start a charter school in New Jersey. Information will be posted here.
NJ Charter School Job Fairs
NJCSA also produces job fairs (both virtual and in person) where our member schools can host tables & conduct interviews on site. Many charter schools also host their own job fairs. Information will be posted here.
Quarterly School Member Meetings
NJCSA holds quarterly members-only meetings where school leadership teams meet their peers and discuss news, legislation and regulations affecting charter schools in the New Jersey. The agenda is defined by NJCSA staff. These meetings are not open to Associate Members and do not allow vendor presentations. Meeting notices are emailed to the leadership teams of member schools who can extend the invitation to appropriate staff members; pre-registration is requested.
Regional School Leader Meetings
NJCSA also is available to mediate on-demand regional meetings for charter school leadership teams who are interested in hot topics affecting their regions. These meetings are informal and designed to support open and honest dialogue in a safe environment, and were created to enable school leaders and administrators to meet face-to-face and discuss issues directly affecting them. Although facilitated by NJCSA staff, the agenda is defined by the attendees. We are not able to open these meetings to vendors or Associate Members at this time.
