Why should you stay at Bally’s? When you reserve a room in the official conference block, you help NJCSA meet our obligations to Bally’s that in turn keeps our costs — and your badge fees — as low as possible. We’ve secured low rates in the nicest rooms they have available. Plus, the elevators to sleeping rooms in the Bally Tower are just a few steps away from our conference registration counter! No rooms are closer than the ones we reserved in our room block! Bally’s is right on the boardwalk near the best nightlife and shopping areas — and just steps away from sand and surf. It’s also just a short walk to catch a Jitney bus, on which you can travel up and down Atlantic Avenue to all the hot spots for a very low price (cash only).
Getting Into and Around AC
The Atlantic City bus terminal is within walking distance to Bally’s; the Amtrak / NJ Transit train station is a little further out (near the Convention Center), but still within walking distance (although those of you bringing suitcases & packages may want to take a cab once you arrive).
Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) is a 20-minute drive from Atlantic City. Carriers servicing ACY are Spirit Airlines (1-800-772-7117) and United Airlines (1-800-241-6522); contact the airport and the airlines for current information about routes, schedules & fares. Philadelphia International Airport is about 60 minutes away and services most major & discount airlines plus rental car stands.
Parking garages in Atlantic City are plentiful. One-way streets are the norm in Atlantic City, so look closely at street signs as you navigate the city. The Bally’s self-park garage is situated on South Michigan Ave, which is accessed by driving down South Ohio Avenue (heading east), turning right and driving past the Bally’s valet stand (and under the skywalk) and then turning right (heading west) onto South Michigan. To make it easier, valet parking is available at Bally’s and bellmen are ready to assist with your luggage. Exhibitors are encouraged to ship their materials ahead of time to the decorator warehouse; you can also unload and carry in your own materials (see your show services kit for instructions and deadlines).
When you’re ready to hit the town, Atlantic City is famous for its Jitneys — inexpensive public busses (have cash ready) that run 24/7 and get you up and down Pacific Avenue to various hot spots in the city. Pick up a Jitney at sidewalk signs on Pacific Avenue outside of Bally’s and Caeser’s; be sure to pick up the jitney that’s driving in the direction of your destination. Taxi cabs are also available for transport to other locations around the city. Please ask the Bally’s doorman to hail you a cab and, before accepting the ride, be sure your taxi driver accepts your method of payment (cash or credit).
We advise all attendees traveling into and around AC to confirm all directions & locations on a map before starting your trip, and always be aware of your surroundings and your belongings.
What Else to Do in AC
After conference activities are over for the day, many attendees catch up with friends at several restaurants and bars right inside Bally’s. Popular spots are Harry’s Oyster Bar (at beach level; the oysters are incredible), the “L” Bar (in the hotel lobby & fondly referred to as “The Stick Bar” by NJCSA staff; cigar smokers welcome) and Guy Fieri’s Chophouse (right across from the conference registration counter; you gotta try the fries).
The famous Atlantic City Boardwalk is right outside Bally’s doors — perfect for a refreshing run or nice walk to see the sights.
The historic Boardwalk Hall (early home of the Miss America pageant) is just “down beach” from Bally’s.
Of course let’s not overlook AC’s vibrant gaming industry, and the Caeser’s/Bally’s/Harrah’s Total Rewards loyalty program offers excellent benefits and rewards that can be earned and redeemed not only in AC but also around the country and online.
