For nearly a decade, it has been a tradition of the New Jersey Charter Schools Association to invite schools to submit proposals for student performances at our annual gathering. Whether you are in the classroom, in an administrative role, or a supporting organization for a charter school, students are at the heart of everything we do. To bring the community together means bringing the kids, too!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve just launched the form for schools to submit ideas for student performances. This year offers a special opportunity because we are commemorating the past two decades of charter operation in the stated with a special evening event, The 20-Year Salute to NJ Charters.
Performances can range from vocal, instrumental or choral ensembles to marching band, drum line, cheerleading, dance or step teams. We’re also seeking student performers who can also emcee parts of the General Session, by leading the Pledge of Allegiance and introducing keynote speakers from a written script. Plus, we provide a hot meal for all performers and adult chaperons, and we reimburse schools for transportation costs to & from Newark up to $500.
The deadline to submit an idea is Thursday, September 7
Selected performers will be notified no later than Tuesday, September 12
You can see past performances on our YouTube Channel.
We can’t wait to have you and your kids join us to celebrate in October!
